103              CASE FILES

Once an application has been received in a district or regional office a case file must be constructed to contain that application and all other related documents.

The case file is the permanent record which contains the application, all materials supporting the application and the eligibility decision, all documentation and verification supporting each eligibility factor and change in case status, and the documentation supporting the actions taken while case managing a family to become self-supporting.

The case file and each item entered into it must be clear and complete enough so that any person who views the file along with the case on EIS will be able to easily reconstruct what action occurred, why it occurred, who took the action, and when it was taken.
