MANUAL: Aged, Disabled and Long Term Care Medicaid Eligibility Manual
DATE: April 1, 2022
We have updated the 2022 Federal Poverty Level guidelines for income eligibility effective April 1, 2022. We have also updated other sections that use Federal Poverty Level guidelines for income eligibility.
This manual change also consists of several technical changes or clarifications as a result of suggestions from the field. Highlights of these revisions are described below. If you have any questions please contact the Policy & Program Development Team at e-mail hss.dpa.policy@alaska.gov.
OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
514(G) Children in Treatment
- Clarified that although an individual may not qualify for the Special LTC category until 30th day of institutionalization, the individual's effective date of eligibility is retroactive to the first day of the 30-day period of institutionalization.
520(A) Application and Review Process
- Clarified that we can accept online application through the FFM and SSP for disability related Medicaid but additional information will be needed from the household.
534(K) Example of an Eligibility Determination
- Updated examples with 2022 Federal Poverty Level Changes
534(M) Example of an Eligibility Determination With a Medicaid Qualifying Trust
