MANUAL: Aged, Disabled and Long Term Care Medicaid Eligibility Manual

Included in this manual change is the recent clarification from CMS that Alaska Native and American Indian Real Property is excluded as a resource for Medicaid.
This year Social Security announced that there will be no COLA (Cost of Living Allowance) increase for 2016. Social Security did update the Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) limit which is added to Addendum 1.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
524-L ALASKA NATIVE AND AMERICAN INDIAN REAL PROPERTY RESOURCE EXCLUDED
Adds clarification that all real property including land and any structures built on the land, owned by an Alaska Native and American Indian is excluded as a resource.
554-C TRANSFERS OF ASSET RULES APPLY
Adds clarification that all real property owned by an Alaska Native or American Indian is excluded from being a countable resource or as a potential transfer of asset penalty.
