MANUAL:  Aged, Disabled and Long Term Care Medicaid Eligibility Manual

 The Low Income Subsidy section has been updated with 2009 standards for resources, deductibles and co-payments.  In addition, we have updated the Program Standards, Pickle Amendment  Chart, and Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy Guide for 2009.

Technical changes include changing the name of the former medical services contractor First Health to the new contractor Affiliated Computer Systems.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES

MS 554 I  Promissory Notes, Loans or Mortgages

1. • Clarifies the subsection by deleting the phrase Purchase of from the title and text.

MS 562 C  Processing HCB Waiver Cases for SSI Children

1. • Removes references to the DKC Unit, and revises to indicate that these cases are maintained in the district offices.

MS 570 B  Individuals Subject to Cost of Care

• Moves Example 1 from subsection B to subsection C because the example is about an individual not subject to cost of care.

MS 570 C  Individuals Not Subject to Cost of Care

1. • Moves Example 1 from subsection B to subsection C because the example is about an individual not subject to cost of care.

MS 580 D 3  Subsidy Levels

1. • Updates Low Income Subsidy section with 2009 standards for resources, deductibles, co-payments, etc.

Addendum 1  Program Standards

• Updates Federal Poverty Guideline and Pickle People charts to reflect the poverty guideline changes for 2009.

Addendum 4  COCA Processing

• Changes all references to Alaska Longevity Bonus to Senior Benefits.

Addendum 6  Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy Guide

• Update Low Income Subsidy Chart with the 2009 Medicare Part D Information
