555 A.      COUPLES

A couple who has continuously resided together in the same institution for six months or both lived at home and both received home and community based (HCB) waiver services for six months, may have their income and resources considered as a couple or as separate individuals - whichever scenario would most benefit the recipients.

555 B.      INDIVIDUALS UNDER 21

For an individual under 21 who is institutionalized for disability (e.g., a child residing in a nursing home), or who is approved for HCB waiver services under the Special Long Term Care category, the eligibility and post-eligibility determination processes are the same as those for an institutionalized adult.
