350           INSTITUTIONAL RESIDENCY

An individual is not eligible for the Senior Benefits Program during any full calendar month during which he or she lives throughout the month in:

• A prison or jail;
  
  
• A public or private institution for mental disease, such as the Alaska Psychiatric Institute (APIAlaska Psychiatric Institute);
  
  
• A nursing home; or
  
  
• An Alaska Pioneers’ Home or the Alaska Veterans’ Home.  
  
  

An individual may receive Senior Benefits for months during which the individual is only institutionalized for part of the month.  He or she must live outside of the institution for at least one day of the month.

Note:

An individual is eligible for the Senior Benefits Program while living in an Assisted Living Home.
