Service Population: AVCPAssociation of Village Council Presidents operates a TANFTemporary Assistance to Needy Families program providing temporary assistance and related services to all eligible families within its service area, including both Native and non-Native families.

 

Service Area: The service area for this program includes Bethel and surrounding communities within the Calista Region of Western Alaska. Communities in this service area include:

 

Akiachak, Akiak, Alakanuk, Aniak, Atmatluak, Bethel, Bill Moore's Slough, Chefornak, Chevak, Chuathbaluk, Chuloonawick, Crooked Creek, Eek, Emmonak, Georgetown, Goodnews Bay, Hamilton, Hooper Bay, Kalskag (lower), Kalskag (upper), Kasigluk, Kipnuk, Kongiganak, Kotlik, Kwethluk, Kwigillingok, Lime Village, Marshall, Mekoryuk, Mountain Village, Napaimiut, Napakiak, Napaskiak, Newtok, Nightmute, Nunam Iqua (Sheldon Pt.), Nunapitchuk, Ohogamiut, Oscarville, Paimiut, Pilot Station, Pitka's Point, Platinum, Quinhagak, Red Devil, Russian Mission, Saint Mary's (Algaaciq & Andreafski tribes), Scammon Bay, Sleetmute, Stony River, Toksook Bay, Tuluksak, Tuntutuliak, Tununak, and Umkumiut.
