The MAGI Medicaid Eligibility Manual provides the ET with federal and state policies used to determine MAGI Medicaid eligibility. This manual will assist DPADivision of Public Assistance and DHCS staff, partner agencies, contractors, and others with the guidance needed to determine eligibility. Not every applicable law is found in this manual, so when an ET is uncertain how to apply any of these policies, they should contact the DPADivision of Public Assistance Policy Unit at hss.dpa.policy@alaska.gov.

The policies used throughout this manual are designed as a guide for DPADivision of Public Assistance. The policies within this manual are intended to be flexible when necessary. ET's are expected to use prudent person judgement (PPJ) when making decisions necessary to administer the program fairly and consistently within the program’s intent.
